About DLD Foundations

DLD Foundation is dedicated to Planting Awareness in the community for early detection, Raising Resources for cancer research, and Cultivating Results, the ultimate result being a cure for cancer.

DLD Foundations was founded by Pennie Carey in remembrance of her father, Dallas Leslie Dahl. Dallas passed away in 2003 of cancer. He was diagnosed with breast cancer at too late of a stage and unfortunately, passed away. Feeling that his death was preventable, Pennie wanted to bring awareness to her community of the different types of cancers, especially in men. Thus, DLD (Dallas Leslie Dahl) Foundations was created in 2003.

DLD Foundations got its start writing grant proposals for members of Pennie's community, and any compensation she received was then donated to cancer research.

In late October 2007, Pennie added to her staff Jessica Merlino and Bob Hawk. DLD Foundations now has the extra man power to do fund-raising events, something Pennie has always dreamed of doing. The year of 2008 finds DLD Foundations expanding its horizons, hosting seven charity events and fund-raisers.
